It was August 30th, 2018. A sweltering summer Thursday night in Texas. John Mark Lowry has just finished trimming his mustache and is slipping on his black Vans, while Abbey Heller has just taken the last selfie of her all black outfit. Both of them are headed to the middle of their neighborhood, Deep Ellum, to meet in person for the first time at 7pm, after meeting on Bumble. 7-hours and many old-fashions later, John Mark offers to walk Abbey home––the complete opposite direction of his loft. She accepts. When they arrive at her apartment, she asks if he would like to see the decomposing rat she has named Chester. He accepts. John Mark performs a eulogy for a rat he didn't know and Abbey knows at that moment that this guy is the one. They kiss for the first time and Chester is the only one to bear witness. John Mark and Abbey spend every day together from that day onward.
